This holiday season, law enforcement will again be stepping up DUI enforcement around Lake Tahoe and throughout El Dorado County.  Please designate a sober driver for all your holiday plans.  And expect to see increased police presence, both on patrol and at DUI checkpoints.

The El Dorado County Avoid the 6 DUI task force has announced upcoming saturation patrols for December 18th, 26th, 28th and 30th.  Additionally, there will be a DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe on December 23rd.  Remember the implied consent law does not give you the option to refuse a sobriety test.  DMV will issue an automatic one year suspension to anyone who refuses to take a sobriety test or provide a sample of breath or blood to determine blood-alcohol concentration.
