This Memorial Day Weekend in South Lake Tahoe will be like most other holiday weekends with DUI checkpoints and stepped up police enforcement.

Visitors to Lake Tahoe as well as locals can expect a large police presence through the holiday weekend.  Police in South Lake Tahoe will be conducting roving saturation patrols from Friday through Monday.  Additionally, a DUI checkpoint will be set up in South Lake Tahoe from 6pm on Saturday until 1am Sunday morning.

Motorists should expect the same elevated police presence around the lake in California as well as Nevada.  With Memorial Day serving as the unofficial kick-off to summer, law enforcement officials want to take the opportunity to show strict enforcement of driving under the influence.
