St. Patrick’s Day in Lake Tahoe is always a great time, but it is imporatant to remember to avoid DUIs. With the recent snowfall and a holiday famous for drinking, this weekend will surely be a fun and crowded one around Lake Tahoe. But with all the people and drinking comes increased police presence.

Several law enforcement agencies in and around Lake Tahoe have announced plans for increased enforcement and/or DUI checkpoints this weekend.  The following Tahoe Daily Tribune Article describes some checkpoints planned for the Nevada side of the Lake as well as Carson City.  Just like any holiday weekend, we can plan to see increased patrols and checkpoints on the California side of the Lake as well.

Remember, the most important piece of advice is to designate a driver, take a cab or walk!  See the following video for more information:
